Gift Ideas for Mothers Day
I always worry when “gift” days come around. And, so gift ideas for mom are really does worry me too. I know it’s supposed to be easy to buy for mothers or women in general. Because, they love things! But, I think it’s very difficult to buy gifts for dads.
My family is pretty different though. My dad loves music and he always tells us what he’s looking for and what he wants. The whole family needs to listen up so that we don’t end up buying the same album for him. Gift ideas for mothers is entirely different thing and much more difficult.
The whole family usually gets together to write down what they want. We suggest items to each other, but it doesn’t always work out that easily. Most of the time, we give the basic gift ideas for mothers. They’re things like flowers, jewelry, chocolates or spa treatment. We didn’t know, though, that mom was just being polite and accepting these gifts. We just assumed that she liked them. Apparently, that was not true. She told my sibling once that she didn’t care for jewelry and she preferred different flowers. This not only hurt our feelings, but it also left us wondering what to get her. The regular stuff just didn’t work.
So, last year, when Mother’s Day came up fast, we had no clue what to do. We looked at a ton of stuff, including online for gift ideas for mothers. We must have spent hours browsing online stores at the regular stuff. We found Mother’s Day gift baskets, books, chocolates, dinners and a whole lot more, but nothing seemed right. So, we decided to ask dad.
Finally, a brainstorm hit. And, it was my mother’s elephant collection. Of course, elephants aren’t typical gift ideas for mothers, but this was certainly an obvious present. The elephant collection was just sitting around gathering dust. Barely anyone ever paid any attention to it anymore. But, mom was still passionate about collecting them.
Dad suggested that we get new ones for her, so we all jumped at that idea. Finally, mom was truly happy with these gifts that she got. You could tell that she was overjoyed. Next time, we’ll make sure to ask dad first.
